Biography

Kevin Mintzer is the principal of The Law Office of Kevin Mintzer, P.C. Mr. Mintzer has significant litigation and counseling experience, having represented numerous clients involved in employment, discrimination and harassment matters, as well individuals and small companies faced with contractual and other commercial disputes. Mr. Mintzer also regularly advises employees and executives concerning covenants-not-to-compete, employment contracts and severance agreements.

Before founding his own law practice, Mr. Mintzer was for nine years a partner and associate at Vladeck, Waldman, Elias & Engelhard, P.C., an employment law firm in New York. In addition, he practiced as a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, a leading global commercial firm.

Prior to working as a practicing attorney, Mr. Mintzer served as a law clerk in the federal judiciary, where he observed and participated in the judicial decision-making process. Immediately following his graduation from law school, Mr. Mintzer was a law clerk for the Honorable Charles P. Sifton, who was then the Chief Judge of the Federal District Court in the Eastern District of New York. One year later, Mr. Mintzer served as an appellate law clerk for the Honorable Robert E. Cowen, a Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Mintzer received his law degree from the New York University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and served as an editor of the New York University Law Review. Prior to that, he received a B.A. in political science from The Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors.

Mr. Mintzer regularly speaks on employment law and litigation-related topics to attorneys and other legal professionals, including at forums sponsored by the New York City Bar and the New York County Lawyers' Association. He is also a member of the New York City Bar and currently serves as a member of the Committee on Professional Responsibility. Previously, he served on the City Bar's Committee for Legal Issues Affecting People with Disabilities. Mr. Mintzer is also a member of the national and New York chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).

Mr. Mintzer is admitted to practice before the courts of New York State, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mr. Mintzer lives in Manhattan with his wife and two daughters.
